Indian Food

Indian restaurants are great for vegans, though I do still have to ask a few questions because they use dairy.  We got takeout tonight and I had a vegetable appetizer assortment to start.  I asked them to substitute another appetizer for the Paneer Pakora (fried cheese), and not to put any butter on my Naan (flat bread).  My entree was Aloo Gobi, “cauliflower and potatoes sauteed with onions, ginger, garlic, tomato, and spices,” over basmati rice.

While I was waiting for takeout, I went next door to an Indian grocery and uncharacteristically picked up a package of snacks, Haldiram’s Samosas.  They were hard, crunchy samosas.  I liked them!
