Gallo Pinto

For dinner tonight I made black beans and rice, a Costa Rican dish called Gallo Pinto in the breakfast section of The Global Vegetarian.  I didn’t think the recipe was exciting enough to post here; beyond cumin and oregano, the flavoring was Worcestershire sauce (a little in the pot, and then pass the bottle at the table), and it was really sort of strange.  I reverted to my Chipotle Tabasco, but I’ll keep looking for a rice and beans recipe.

With this we had leftover Corn Sticks and salad with Maple Balsamic Dressing.
