Healthy Food is Cheaper than Junk

The USDA has an interesting new view of the argument that healthy food is more expensive than junk food: that may often be so calorie for calorie, but how about satiety?

    I’d like to see them calculate price/ nutrient density.

    Interesting to see the USDA throw some support to farmers (health) directly rather than to food processors (jobs) as usual. I wonder if someone is finally envisioning the future healthcare costs of the 17% of children that are overweight? People eating the Standard American Diet aren’t the healthiest in the world, but the companies spewing out processed foods have been some of the most profitable. It’s about time some government policies changed…
