It may sound silly to make your own ketchup, but it really is pretty good, and so easy.  The only drawback is it doesn’t keep well – 2 weeks tops.  From How it all Vegan by Barnard and Kramer.  Makes 3/4 c.

Cook over low heat 10-15 min in a small saucepan:

  • 1 6-oz can tomato paste
  • 2-1/2 T water
  • 1-1/2 T vinegar
  • 1 T sugar
  • 1 t soy sauce
  • 1/8 t each basil, paprika, and salt
